Headteachers Welcome

Aspire Believe Achieve

Welcome to Hemington Primary

Welcome to Hemington Primary School and thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope that this will give you an insight into ‘life at Hemington’, but we would encourage you to make a visit and find out for yourselves.

Hemington Primary is a small and friendly school situated in the picturesque village of Hemington. Our school is based in a beautiful Victorian building. We benefit from an early years space and garden room with the opportunity to carry out forest schools in the woodlands at the back of our building. The school is fortunate to have a large playing field on our door step and a local village hall to carry out large scale events.

A Warm Welcome from Our Co-Heads

             Mrs Reay                        Miss Timbrell

We are an open and welcoming school set within a strong local community. Our school caters for children from the ages of four to eleven. We have three mixed age classes (Reception and Key Stage 1, Year 3 and 4, Year 5 and 6) housed in large, well-resourced classrooms.  We provide a high-quality learning experience for children, enabling them to access a range of academic, sporting and arts related opportunities.

At Hemington Primary, we have a committed team of staff and a dedicated governing body who create a happy, welcoming and secure environment. Our children love coming to school and make the most of the opportunities provided to them.  We aim to engage all members of the school community in learning, in school life and to celebrate our successes together! We believe that the partnership between families and the school is vital and we actively encourage the community to become involved in the life of our school.

At Hemington Primary, our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that our children need to be proud of who they are, their achievements and their individuality. We provide children with the confidence to be an active part of the local community, explore opportunities available to them and develop their aspirations, hopes and dreams in a safe and caring environment. Our curriculum allows us to bring learning to life. Our topic based approach is designed to allow us to teach the breadth of the National Curriculum, alongside enrichment experiences, building on our pupils’ cultural capital. Our curriculum is designed to be aspirational and challenging, to ensure that pupils reach their full potential and are enthused by learning.

The Hemington Primary School motto of Aspire, Believe, Achieve are central to the ethos of our school. To ensure that we are all living out these values, we have decided as a school community to encourage everyone to live by our three expectations – Respect, Responsibility and Readiness. These three expectations encompass everything we do as a school.

All the children and staff of Hemington Primary School worked together to assemble what we think each of these expectations involves. The 3R’s are as follows:

Respect
Be helpful.
Be inclusive.
Always be kind.
Listen.
Share.
Be tolerant – accept others’ thoughts, beliefs and ideas.

Responsibility
Try your best – go over and above!
Look after each other.
Care for each other, the school and the environment.
Manners – be polite.
Apologise when you need to.
Be truthful.
Be fair.
Pay attention – you might just learn the most amazing fact!

Readiness
Listen and be ready to learn.
Be ready to help.
Work as a team – help each other.
Come into school ready for a new day of learning.          Be ready for our move to secondary.                                Be ready to cope in life emotionally, socially and behaviourally.

It is a privilege to be the Co-Headteachers of such a vibrant, successful, and friendly school. We will strive each day to ensure your child has an excellent experience here.

Andrea Reay and Lucy Timbrell.
